Calling all social media enthusiasts! This week is packed with exciting updates on Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. And don’t think we’ve forgotten about YouTube, LinkedIn, and even Emoji updates that you won’t want to miss. Let’s get into it!

Instagram’s New Feature Allows for a More Relaxed Experience

Say goodbye to the pressure of always being connected and hello to a more relaxed and refreshing experience.

Instagram’s rolling out a new “Quiet Mode” feature, where users can take a break from the app by temporarily hiding push notifications. You can set a schedule for when they want to receive notifications, or turn them off completely. BE WARNED, your DMer will be told you’re in quiet mode!

In with the Old! Instagram Prioritises Photos Again

Instagram is finally giving its users the attention they deserve! Adam Mosseri has admitted that the platform has been dominated by short videos, but now they’re planning on turning things around and making sure that there’s a balance between photos and videos.

So get ready to share more of your stunning still shots.

Say Goodbye to Unwanted Posts with Keyword Filtering and Multi-Post Hiding

Say goodbye to unwanted posts cluttering your feed. Soon, you’ll have the power to hide suggested posts using specific keywords. Plus, you’ll be able to hide multiple posts at once from the Explore page.

With IG increasing its efforts to predict topics of interest based on user behaviour and suggest content to users, there’s no doubt this feature will be handy.

Uncover Local Talent with YouTube’s New Location Tagging Feature

Youtube is testing a new location tagging feature for their Shorts, allowing creators to tag their location when uploading a Shorts video, making it easier to discover content from a specific location.

This feature is in the testing phase and it’s not clear when, or if, it will be rolled out to all users, but it does seem likely with the push for more short-form video content.

LinkedIn Cuts the Crap with a New Celebrations feed

LinkedIn has rolled out an exciting new feature called Celebrations!

This separate feed is dedicated to showcasing personal milestones and celebrations, allowing you to easily keep up with your friends and colleagues special moments, all while keeping your professional content front and centre.

Emoji 2.0: Level Up Your Text Game with New Directionality Emojis

Get ready to add some extra flair to your text game with the new directionality emojis coming to your keyboards.

There’s a whopping 578 new emoji sequences proposed, but don’t worry, most of these new additions will allow you to specify the direction an emoji is facing, so you can perfectly convey your emotions in any situation.

As always, we’d love to hear all about your thoughts on the latest updates, and which ones you’re really excited about. And don’t blink, because next week we’re diving into even more must-see digital updates that you won’t want to miss!
