Instagram, TikTok & YouTube’s 2023 changes you need to know

Digital Updates

January 9, 2023

POST WRITTEN BY:

Welcome to the first digital update round-up of 2023! Our favourite platforms are starting the year strong with new features that our biz owner besties will love, ways for shorts creators to gain more traction and the release of a long-awaited site that can help you get your Instagram account back after getting hacked. Let’s get into it!

Instagram’s latest group chat function

Instagram’s looking to roll out a new group chat function! Group Profiles allow users to share content that is only visible to group members and Collaborative Collections allow users to save posts in a private collection.

This new feature will be great for prompting interaction with your followers!

Instagram’s new feature that’ll boost your engagement

We’ve all heard of the fun ‘Add Yours’ stickers in Stories and Instagram is looking to invite more people to participate with a new ‘Pass it on’ prompt.

Once it’s available, users will be able to easily share their photos with the click of a button and boost their engagement.

Instagram’s new one-stop shop on getting your account back after a hack

Instagram.com/hacked is your new one-stop destination to report and resolve account issues.

Launched in December, this new site is something we’ve all been waiting for. Users can resolve issues like forgotten passwords, losing two-factor authentication and regaining disabled or hacked accounts.

You can now see your Comment History on TikTok

TikTok is slowly rolling out a new Comment History feature! Along with Watch History, users will be able to view all previous comments they’ve made.

If you’ve ever tried looking for a specific comment or you’re simply curious about what you’ve commented on in the past, this feature is perfect for you!

YouTube experiments with suggested hashtags for shorts creators

YouTube is making it easier for Shorts creators to gain more traction for their clips! Creators will be able to see relevant hashtags which will be suggested based on previously uploaded content.

This new feature is currently in an initial experimental phase for a small number of creators and will likely be rolled out if successful.

And that’s a wrap! What did you think of the first updates of 2023? Do you think these will be the next big things? We’ll be back next week with the next round of digital updates you won’t want to miss.
