Where It All Started
The year was 2016.
There were Snapchat filters.
Mean Girls quotes floating around the office.
And, at the same time, four young women quietly realising that the way agencies were being run wasn’t it.

At the time, Hayley was managing a fast-growing digital team inside a toxic agency. The kind where sales teams sold imaginary deliverables.
Where leadership had big opinions but very little understanding.
And where growth came at the cost of people.
She was trying to protect her team while helping the business scale at speed, growing from a two-person setup to almost sixteen people in just twelve months.
It was a lot. And it was unsustainable.
The Intern Who Changed Everything
So one day, instead of pushing harder, Hayley did what good operators do when they need support. She asked a question.
She turned to the editorial department and said, “Do you have any good interns who might want to cross over into digital?”
Enter Katy.
At first, Hayley assumed Katy was hungover most mornings. She arrived with thick sunglasses on, coffee in hand, moving slowly but confidently.
Turns out, however, they were prescription sunnies.
Once that mystery was solved, it didn’t take long for something else to become clear. Katy was one of the strongest operators in the room.
So Hayley didn’t question her methods. Instead, she backed them.
Katy was hired part-time. Then full-time the moment she graduated uni. Little did either of them know they were also signing up for a future business partnership.
A Wine, A Conversation, A New Idea
Not long after, the four core women at the agency went out for a cheeky wine and dinner.
You know the kind. The ones where you vent a little. Dream a lot. And accidentally sketch the blueprint for something bigger.
That night, the idea for Oh My Digital sparked.
Building the Opposite of What We’d Lived
By 2017, we’d done the scary part. Said CYA to the agency. And launched what started as a “side hustle.”
But the intention was serious from the start.
We wanted to build the opposite of what we’d experienced. An agency that offered real solutions, not smoke and mirrors. One that cared just as much about the business owner’s life goals as their revenue targets. One that treated its team the way we wished we’d been treated.
And we wanted to grow our way.
Over time, two of our incredible founding women chose different paths. And Katy and Hayley, manager and intern in 2016, became equals. Business partners.

Growing With Intention
Fast forward to 2026. Nearly nine years in business. Hundreds of businesses supported across Australia. A team and client base built on trust, not burnout. And then came a milestone we’re incredibly proud of.
A physical home for Oh My Digital in South Brisbane.
After years of building remotely, opening our South Brisbane office marked a new chapter. One rooted in community, collaboration, and long-term commitment. It grounded us locally while allowing us to continue supporting service-based businesses across the country.

Alongside that, we made a conscious decision to niche.
To focus exclusively on service-based businesses. Not because it was trendy. But because it was where our experience, values, and impact aligned most.
Today, we work with service-based brands who care about sustainable growth, clear strategy, and building businesses that support real lives.
And everything we do is built on trust, not burnout.
Why This Partnership Still Works
Because of all this, we’re often asked how we’ve managed to work together for so long.
The answer is simpler than people expect. Shared values. Clear communication. Mutual respect. And a commitment to building something sustainable, even when it’s slower.
We wouldn’t change this path for anything.
To those who’ve been with us since the beginning, thank you for growing with us. And to anyone joining us now, welcome.
