LinkedIn Shares Insights Into Its Latest Feed Algorithm Updates

LinkedIn has revealed significant updates to its content distribution algorithm, signalling a shift in posting strategies on the platform. Emphasising value over timeliness, LinkedIn aims to extend the lifespan of content by showcasing it as “suggested posts” to relevant users, contributing to a more tailored and niche-oriented experience.

So what does this mean for biz owners? It’s time to consider focusing on sharing knowledge and expertise rather than following posting trends. Consider leveraging existing blog posts or research that resonates with your audience.

What’s new with TikTok?

TikTok is removing even more music

TikTok is removing even more songs written or co-written by artists signed to Universal Music Group (UMG) due to ongoing disputes over music rights. This move follows TikTok’s recent removal of songs from UMG’s popular artists after the companies failed to renew their licensing agreement. TikTok remains committed to reaching a fair agreement with UMG but encourages users to enjoy other available tracks on the platform. Meanwhile, YouTube has launched a music video remix feature to attract short-form video creators, featuring songs from UMG’s catalogue.

👀 Tests spotted on TikTok this week:

  • Tiktok rolls out live test of ‘Identify Similar Products‘ setting for creators to direct viewers to TikTok shop tab. But some users are not feeling it. There’s already been some user backlash, with some suggesting that the app is becoming too commercial, and too pushy with its in-app sales elements.
