Are you putting heaps of time and energy into your Instagram, but still struggling to keep consistently growing your audience?
It isn’t as easy to grow followers these days (we wish it was!). So we’ve put together a little list of the top things small businesses struggle with on Instagram- so you know what NOT to do!
You aren’t being you!
One of the biggest things we see in all of our client results is that, consistently, the posts bringing in the most engagement are behind-the-scenes posts.
Your audience wants to see YOU! Showing who’s behind the biz and sharing stories builds trust & means people are more likely to engage with you.
You don’t engage with other relevant accounts
Stop living in a bubble & embrace community over competition! The best way to keep growing your audience is to work on building your relationships with others.
Consistently engaging with accounts can be as simple as leaving an encouraging comment, asking for more info or hyping them up! These all contribute to making your account more visible to potential customers.
You don’t post consistently
As they say, consistency is key! Especially when it comes to building your audience.
However, posting too much can also cause a drop in engagement and cause users to unfollow you as you’re being too spammy. It’s all about finding the right balance, and remember that building your audience takes time. Be consistent and persistent!
You over-promote
Nobody likes to be bombarded with promotions all day (that’s why ad blockers exist!).
A helpful tip to avoid over-promoting on your Instagram is to implement content pillars into your content planning routine. These are super helpful for ensuring you’re sharing an even mix of content.
