Instagram hackers are on the rise

Dirty scammers are now hacking the Instagram accounts of companies and influencers in a new phishing campaign identified by Secureworks late last year.

To avoid all of your hard work creating content, engaging and building up your follower count just **poof** disappearing if someone were to hack your account, it’s so important to backup your data & set up two-factor authentication!

Downloading your data from Instagram

⭐️ Go to your Insta profile & tap on the Menu (3 lines at top right).⁠
⭐️ Tap Your Activity.⁠
⭐️ Tap Download Your Information.⁠
⭐️ Enter your email address.⁠
⭐️ Select either HTML or JSON format for your data.⁠
⭐️ Enter your IG password and tap Request download.⁠

Instagram will email you a link to a file with ALL your photos, comments, profile information and more. And don’t panic if it doesn’t come through straight away – it can take up to 30 days for IG to collect the data and email it to you.⁠

HOT TIP: The link only works for four days from the time you receive it, so it’s best to save your files as soon as you receive the email link.⁠
